DO A BARREL ROLL!!!

Hey everybody! I'm back, and I am ready for some new games!

As some of you may know e3 just ended ( At least when I'm posting this) and that means.....

NEW GAMES!!!!

So I am going to celebrate by looking back on some of those game's heritiges.

First up...

                       .

That's right!  If you couldn't guess by the title I will be reviewing THE STARFOX SERIES in honor of:

The upcoming game Starfox Zero!

Okay, now I will do a quick sum up of the original starfox.

And there you have it.

Starfox was basically a bunch of polygons shooting lasers at other polygons.

Cool right!?!

Oh, I almost forgot the last thing!

This Giga polygon is Andross. He is basically the bowser of the starfox world.

Wait what? You want to know more? Okay. How about this?

I'll tell you much, much more in my next post!

See ya later guys!

Last MK Post

Hey guys!  This is my last MK post so remember to check back tomorrow for the new series.

Today we are going to be looking at the last 4 Mario Karts. In ONE yes ONE post!!!!

So, lets get things ( and karts ) rolling!

1. Mario Kart DS.

This handheld game was.... interesting to say the least.

It had a few new features like..

Retro Cups.  Now you could play races from older games!

Standard Karts. Each character had a standard and a special kart.

Nintendo Wi-Fi.  This game started Nintendo's online capabilities for all of its MK games.

That's basically a quick overview of MKDS.

2. Mario Kart Wii.

Mario Kart Wii not only had the edition of the Wii Wheel, a Wii Remote accessory, but it also added in Bikes allowing you to have a much wider range of vehicles.

It also had 25 characters! It held the record for the most playable people in a MK game until MK8 came along with 53 characters! ( 30 without DLC )

MKW also added the new feature of playing as your Mii, a basic avatar for the Wii, 3DS, and Wii U.

MKW had some epic tracks like Mushroom Gorge, Koopa Cape, Maple Treeway, and Coconut Mall.

You can find all of these in...

3. Mario Kart 7!

MK7 was the 7th ( obviously ) installment in the Mario Kart series.

It added in some crazy items from another popular game: Super Mario 3D Land.

Some of these items were....

                                                   Image result for Tanooki leaf

The Tanooki Leaf....

The Fire Flower....

And the Lucky Seven, which gives you 7 items that you can use.

It also added in the feature of customizable karts.

4. Mario Kart 8.

Today this is the newest Mario Kart game Nintendo has made.

This game added so many new things. Here are a few:

New characters!  The Koopalings, Pink Gold Peach, and Baby Rosalina are all new playable characters in this game.

Customization.  Although this feature was added in MK7, Mario Kart 8 allows you to customize bikes and ATVs.

Power Ups.  The Boomerang Flower, Potted Piranha, and Crazy 8 are new items for this game, but you'll have to see the game to check out what they do.

This game also has a bunch of tracks to play on.

It has the record for the most races at 48 tracks if you cont the DLC.

That's all guys. Thanks for reading my first posts. Look next week for the new series! Bye!

Mario Kart Double Dose

Hey guys!  Today we'll be looking at a really fun MK game....

Mario Kart Double Dash!!

This game is one of a kind, and I wish Nintendo would make another game like this.

As you can probably tell from the pic above you get to use TWO people per kart allowing some CRrrRaaAaaAzzZzzZyyYyyY combos!

This game brings in new features. Some only for this game!

1. 2 People Per Kart.

There are a bunch of characters to use from:

Common characters like Mario himself.......

To obscure villains like Petey Piranha!

2.  Items.

In MKDD, since there are two characters per kart, each one can hold an item.

This allows you to save items until you need them!

Be warned though, racers might use a technique to try and steal your item.

Now, imagine you're racing as Mario and Luigi, the classic combo.

You're driving down the track when you see this:
HUH??!!??  Am I seeing double, or are there two item boxes?  MKDD is all about twos, so I guess that makes sense.

You pick up an item and, if you have the right combo you will get:

A SPECIAL MOVE, MOVE, MOVE, MOVE, MOVE!

If, for instance you had Mario and Luigi, you would get the Fireball item!

Some special moves look different depending on who uses them.

Here's an example.  If Luigi used the fireballs, they would still have the same effect but, they would be green instead.

Also some items like the: Golden Shroom, Triple Shells, and Bob-ombs are special moves in this game.

Have fun trying all the different items!

3. Karts.

For the past three games there has been only one kart: The Pipe Frame.

However MKDD adds in the new feature of Selectable Karts!

Depending on your two characters, you will be able to select different karts.

You can also unlock new karts by winning cups in the Grand Prix.

Here is a pic of the different karts:

The top pic shows the starting karts while the bottom pic, shows the unlockable karts.

All the karts except for the parade kart ( The one to the right of the birdo kart) have counterparts. See if you can match them up!

4. A Shroomy Welcome.

POP QUIZ!!!

What was the name of the toad introduced to the Mario series in this game?

Was it...

A. Cute. T.
B. Toady
C. Toadette
D. None of the Above

If you guessed C.... you were right!

Toadette has now been in tons of Mario games to date including: Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door, Mario Kart Wii, Mario Kart 7, Mario Kart 8, Mario Party 10 and, where she was a major character, Captain Toad Treasure Tracker!

Well that's all the time we have for today.

See you next time!

Mario Kart 64?

Hey everybody! Since I didn't post much last week, I'm extending Mario Kart out this week so I can get my posts done.

Now with that out of the way let's get started.

Today's topic Mario Kart...64?

Wait, if this is the second MK game why is it called 64?

Oh yeah, It's on the N64.  That makes a lot more sense.

The N64 was Nintendo's first 3D game console! Wow a big leap for Nintendo!

Fortunately it had some cool games including: MK64, Super Mario 64, and one of my favorites, Paper Mario!

Unfortunately the controller looked like this:

Wow. Just wow. A three ponged controller? With a control stick smaller than your thumb?

Man, Playing games must have been hard.

Anyways now that we're done with the history lesson lets move back to Mario Kart.

Here is a screenshot of the game.

This game inspired the look for Mario Kart Super Circuit, which also had the same new characters as this game.

Some of these tracks however were very annoying. And by annoying I mean long. Very very long.

Some of you who play Mario Kart 8 may have played N64 Rainbow Road.  That course is split up into three sections. Now take all three sections and turn it into a three lap race.  That is the original N64 Rainbow Road. The longest course in MK history.

This Mario Kart has a 3D/2D feel.

That means it's 2D with 3D elements.

Thats all for today guys. Keep lookin for my posts. Bye!

Super Mario Kart + Mario Kart: Super Circut

Hello Everybody. Let's get started shall we?

Today's Topic: SUPER Mario Karts. Are they so super?

Lets begin with Super Mario Kart.

This is the original. The FIRST EVER Mario Kart game.  A true classic. But..... It isn't exactly the best.

Let me show you a gameplay screenshot:

See what I mean?  2 screens on an old home console? Wow.

Then there's the tracks. 20 courses and 8, yes I said 8 maps.

How does this work? Well, you take the maps and put them in different layouts.

BOOM! You now have a game. Now you know why tracks have names like this:

But it is the first Mario Kart game.  So it's not too bad.

Next up: Mario Kart Super Circuit

This game, as you can see is for the Game Boy Advance.  It's also the first handheld Mario Kart Game.

MKSC has many of the same features as Super Mario Kart with a few new additions:

1. New Tracks!  This time every single track is different with the exception of Bowser's Castle.

2. New Items. Triple Shells and Shrooms were added in.

3. New Characters. Wario and Donkey Kong are Characters in this game.

4. A Larger Use of Shortcuts.  There are way more shortcuts than in SMK that appear in levels like Sky Garden and Shy Guy Beach.

And finally:

5. Better Graphics.  Although this game may be a handheld it has much better graphics than the original. Here, take a look:

Now compare this with the SMK picture above. See the difference?

Although these games aren't what you might call "super" they are milestones for Nintendo and fun games.

Thanks for reading! And look for my next post soon! Bye!
